25th Infantry Division Association Educational Scholarship

The 25th Infantry Division Association is proud to offer annual educational scholarships to descendants of our members. These awards help the next generation pursue higher education while honoring the service of their parents and grandparents.

Eligibility

Children & Grandchildren

A child or grandchild of an active member of the Association for at least 12 months prior to the application.

Gold Star Families

A son or daughter of a former member of the Division who is deceased during active combat with the Division or as a result thereof.

Application Requirements

Application Deadline: March 13, 2026 (postmarked). Late submissions will not be considered.

Applicants must be enrolled or enrolling in a college, university, or trade school for a minimum of 12 semester hours per semester.

Required Materials:

  1. Personal letter describing future goals, need for financial support, and school/community activities (include military-related activities)
  2. High school transcript through first semester of senior year with rank in class (or post-high school transcript if applicable)
  3. Letter of acceptance from institution (or list of pending applications)
  4. Two letters of recommendation (one from a community citizen, one from a teacher, coach, pastor, or administrator)
  5. Full-face head and shoulder color photograph (not larger than 3x4 inches, for publicity purposes only)
  6. Copy of parent's or grandparent's DD-214 or other documentary evidence of service in the 25th Infantry Division. Before submitting, black out (redact) any Social Security numbers - older DD-214s often include them, and they are not needed to verify service.

How application materials are handled

Application packets are reviewed only by the Scholarship Committee and Executive Committee. Materials are used solely for scholarship selection and, for winners, the submitted photograph may be used in Association publications as noted above. Materials from non-selected applicants are destroyed after the selection cycle. Applicants under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the application; we do not accept submissions from children under 13.

Selection Process

Applications are evaluated in March by the Scholarship Committee, then forwarded to the Executive Committee for final determination. Winners are notified before the end of the school year.
